Momoka Asano 淺野桃圭

Momoka is a MA student of Joint Degree in Transcultural Studies at Kyoto University and Heidelberg University. After finishing her BA study in interdisciplinary studies in North Carolina and having studied the goddess worship in Turkey, she decided to study more about Japanese culture — art, religion, and history. She is currently writing my MA thesis on Fumi-e 踏み絵 - literally meaning trampling images, which were made to be stepped on by people suspected of being Christians during the Edo period - and its meanings and agencies historically as well as in the contemporary context. Aside from her studying, Momoka love knitting and crocheting!
